Career and Technical Education (CTE) empowers students to be successful citizens, workers, and leaders in a global economy. CTE programs are designed to contribute to the broad educational achievement of students, including basic skills, as well as their ability to work independently and as part of a team, think creatively and solve problems, and utilize technology in the thinking and problem-solving process. Students who complete a four-course concentration in CTE are more likely to graduate and are better prepared to further their education to be successful in 21st century careers. CTE in Jackson County Public Schools serves students in over 47 different course curriculums in Agricultural Education; Business, Finance and Information Technology Education; Career Development Education; Family and Consumer Science Education; Health Science Education; Marketing and Entrepreneurship Education; Technology, Engineering and Design Education, and Trade and Industrial Education.
